Presenting your own poetry in front of others can be a different experience from simply writing it. Reflect on your experience sharing your poem with the class. What was the most challenging part of presenting your work, and how did you feel about allowing others to hear something you created?

Presenting my poem to the class was a little challenging especially because our grade was based off of how clear and precise we present it to the class. I have never been a good public speaker, but I know presenting like this will improve my skills. It felt good for others to hear my poem that I created. Because I put a lot of work into creating my poem. Today in class we presented our poems. Around half the class finished presenting them including me. I can reflect on today's assignment by improving my public speaking skills. I can also reflect on how good everyone's Poems were, I really liked Lulu's poem about her cat's.

How confident do you feel about your ability to identify claims in a text? What was the easiest part of today's activity, and what did you find challenging? Explain how today's lesson helped you better understand the difference between a claim and other statements an author might make.

I am very confident in my ability to identify a claim in a text. I have various experience identifying claims in my English classes through the years. The easiest part of today's activity was creating the counter claims. Today's assignment helped me with identify claims faster and interpreting them better. Today in class we were given an assignment where we had to identify claims. After identify these claims we had to create a counter argument for them. I can use these skills I learned today in my future English classes. When I have to write a argumentative essay I will apply these skills.

Prompt: If you could change one rule at school, at home, or in society, what would it be? Using a claim of policy, make an argument for why that rule should change, using at least two reasons to support your claim.

One rule at school I would change is the blocking policy. Our school has blocked so much unnecessary apps that even the teachers complain about it. Today my AP Psychology teacher was even venting to us about it and how its so dumb. This is the one rule I would change in our school. Today in class we continued learning about argumentative writing and counter arguments. It was a very educational day for me and I learned a lot. I can reflect on the information I learned today but use it in my life everyday. You use argumentative principles every day in different ways.

Think about a time when someone challenged your opinion or told you that you were wrong. What was the disagreement about, and how did you defend yourself? Did you change their mind, or did they change yours?

One time when my opinion was wrong or I was told I was wrong, was last week in my math class. We were doing popcorn answers and he asked a math equation, I answered correctly and he said it was wrong. After going over it with him he realized I was right. This is a time where I was told I was wrong but I was right! Today in class we started learning about argumentative writing. We started going over all of the different approaches and definitions of argumentative writing.  I can reflect on this activity by imputing these skills to my everyday life. These argumentative skills will be useful to me in many situations.

Today, you had the opportunity to express yourself through poetry. Reflect on your creative writing process. What did you find most enjoyable or challenging about turning your thoughts into a poem? Did this assignment change the way you think about poetry or creative writing? Explain your experience.

The most enjoyable part was describing how peaceful the mountains feel compared to the loud city. The hardest part was finding rhyming words that still made sense and sounded natural. I changed several lines because they did not sound how I wanted them to. This assignment showed me that poetry takes more thought than just making words rhyme. The words also need to show a feeling or message. Today in class I was absent. I enjoyed describing the peaceful mountains, but finding words that rhymed and made sense was challenging. This assignment helped me see how poetry can express feelings through writing.

Describe a time when someone’s words had a lasting impact on you.

One time when someone's word had a lasting impact on my life was when my dad told me to never give up on my dreams. This quote has impacted my life greatly helping me make decisions. It helps me stay dedicated and work hard for my dreams. This is a quote that had a great impact on my life. Today we have short classes so we didn't really do anything in class. Later today we have a pepper ralley in spirit of home coming this weekend. I can reflect on this quote we did today by staying dedicated and never giving up on my dreams. This is a good quote to keep with me my entire life.

Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone.

One time I can remember when I had to step outside my comfort zone was today at an FBLA event went to. It was a fair with rides everywhere and my group wanted to go on a swing ride that lifts you high into the air and spins. I usually don't ride rides like this because they seem so poorly manufactured. But today I decided to step outside my comfort zone and ride it. This is one time where I had to step outside of my comfort zone. Today in class we started an assignment that goes along with the poem we have been reading. The assignment helps us understand the poem in a deeper way. I can reflect on the assignment we completed today by using the skills I learned to better analyze documents in the future. These skills I learned today can help me in the future when I pursue a better education.
